Update on Jack Daniels

Dear church, 

I am happy to pass along the most recent information about our friend, Jack Daniels. He has been moved back to one of the assisted living facilities ( The Grove) on the grounds of his former independent living apartment at Greenridge at Buckner Villas just 3 blocks east of I-35 on Braker Road. For those of you wanting to contact Jack by mail, here is his address: Jack Daniels

For those of you who would like to pay a personal visit to Jack, here are the directions to reach The Grove Building on the Buckner campus. Two block east of-35 on the right side of Braker, you will see the huge Greenridge Independent Living facility. Just past that, turn RIGHT at the light (Tom Adams Drive).Graham Elementary School is on that corner. Follow Tom Adams Drive one block until it dead ends. Turn RIGHT and drive into the back of the Buckner property. After driving over some yellow bumps, turn LEFT and follow the road around to the back. The first building is Memory Care. The second building is The Grove where Jack is living right now. Park at the building and go to the front door. Right now, the doorbell is not working. On the keypad, type in 987 and the lock clicks open. Sign in at the table. Jack is in Room 209. His room is in the hall farthest from where you parked. Walk down that hall to the right. You will come to the dining area. Jack’s room is on the left at the dining area ( very easy to find - room 209).

After your visit, you will need to know the code to get the door to unlock! On the keypad, type in #234. The door can then be opened without setting off the door alarm.

Jack would very much enjoy visitors. He will know you! He is very anxious to build his body ( legs) strength to be able to return to his apartment in the main building. ( Don’t tell him, but it doesn’t look like that will be happening anytime soon - Remember, he is dealing with congestive heart failure!). He jokes that he is now a “little old man on a walker”! But right now, he still needs a nurse to walk with him!

Jack still read his Classic novels ( 56 in his Kindle library), but I know having friends visit him would make him very happy - we all know how much he enjoys people!!!
